DaMissus's Frequently Asked Questions
|
How come you are the only clown with strawberry
jelly red hair ?
I think strawberry jelly is one of Mother Nature's
best kept secrets. I eat a big jar of strawberry jelly every morning
for breakfast, a peanut butter & j sandwich for lunch, and drink
strawberry juice with my afternoon snack. I eat so much strawberry
jelly that my hair turned "strawberry jelly red." I've never met
another clown who eats as much strawberry jelly as I do - that's why
I'm the only clown I've ever seen with strawberry jelly red hair.
How do I contact you?
You can contact me by
telephone at 703-912-4710, or visit my website at
http://www.damissustheclown.com.
How much do you charge?
My fee is based on a number of factors including:
type of event, how many hours, how many participants, location, types
of entertainment activities, and necessary preparation and supplies.
Please contact me at your earliest convenience for a specific fee
quotation.
Who are your clients?
I "clown around" for hundreds of families for
private celebrations throughout Pennsylvania, Virginia, Maryland,
Washington DC, West Virginia. Northern Virginia. I've also performed
for a wide variety of businesses, organizations, hospitals, cities,
churches and synagogues, libraries, schools, and community
organizations.
How old are you?
DaMISSUS The Clown is eight every year on her
birthday. I think that eight is the perfect age for a clown who loves
to play and help other people smile and laugh.
What types of events do you entertain at?
I love "clowning around" at birthday parties. I
also love to entertain at company picnics, wedding receptions, school
reunions, and other types of special events for individuals,
businesses, schools, libraries, cities, hospitals, community
organizations, and festivals. I can tailor an entertainment package to
fit any type of event.
What size are your shoes?
I have really big feet but I do have pretty shoes
with hearts on the front and the back. I'm not really sure what size
they are but I'd guess size 32 extra-large.
Does your nose "honk"?
The only time my nose makes any noise is when I
have to sneeze and then I make a really loud noise. I do know some boy
clowns who make their noses "honk" with a horrible noise but I
certainly don't want to learn how to imitate their actions. I think my
shiny red upturned nose is pretty, don't you?
Where did you learn how to do "that"?
I have lots of skills - face painting,
bubbleology, playing games, interacting with puppets, and many others.
I practice all the time, read books, watch clown skill videos, and
attend lots of workshops and conferences to expand and enhance my
skills.
Do you have a "partner in clown"?
Yes, I work with my boyfriend of 29 years DR BUD
and three other clowns that kept showing up at the same events.
What kind of paint is that?
For face or hand painting, I use special Snazaroo
paints designed especially for skin. They are nontoxic, water based,
and wash off easily with a wet washcloth. Many non-professionals use
poster paint or worse - liquid acrylic paints - both contain
ingredients that can be dangerous. I paint myself, frequently wearing
the painted designs for 7-12 hours, and know it is safe. Safety is
very important to me with the face painting, balloons and other tools.
What's your "real" name?
DaMISSUS is my "real" clown name and the only name
I usually answer to when I'm out "clowning around". You can call me
"Clown" or "Beautiful Clown" but don't call me late to dinner!
Can I see your photo album?
That's a great idea! I'll post some of my favorite
photos at the Von Clown's Photo Album.
Enjoy!
